Reformer
Lauritz Nicolai Hvidt earned his notoriety through his family's merchant house, mainly operating out of the Danish West Indies, as well as his insurance business. From 1830-1835, Hvidt was the director of the Bank of Denmark-Norway.
And now, in a bid to appease the liberals, King Frederick has named Hvidt Minister of National Affairs, and the liberals do have some sway in government. There are limits however, but Hvidt has already begun work with the head of the armed forces, Frantz von Bulow, to begin reorganization of the Danish-Norwegian naval doctrine.
