José de Salamanca y Mayol

Salamanca is twenty-five, a Málaga-born lawyer turned financier who studied in Granada and brushed early against Ferdinand VII's liberal opposition before trading ideology for arithmetic. He is Ambitious past what his current standing among the Industrialists would suggest, and colder than his years. People are, to him, mostly variables with a price attached and what he actually wants is Spain's machinery and everything below the crown itself.
