Balthazar van Brederode

A son of one of the prominent patrician families of Amsterdam, Balthazar was born into a privileged position. After finishing school, he studied law and history at the University of London before returning to Amsterdam where he continued his academic career at the University of Amsterdam. 

He has achieved significant academic acclaim within Dutch society and has written his thesis on the history of the Dutch East India Company and the development of capitalism. 

He has risen to the position of professor of history at the University of Amsterdam.
