Born in Riga, Blomberg comes from Baltic and Swedish descent. His paternal grandfather, the founder of the Blomberg family, was Swedish, and held a barony near Helsinki. However, Nikolaus never inherited this, because he was a subject of the Russian Empire and the barony is occupied by Sweden.
He entered into the Russian army and quickly rose the ranks, becoming a Lieutenant General and accumulating 8 Order honours by 1856. He is very experienced with cavalry charges and cuts down his enemies fiercely.
Now reaching old age, and with Russia's antagonism towards Sweden over Finland, Blomberg desires the return of his rightful barony. Perhaps he may even be so lucky as to become Governor-General of Finland...
