A scathing review of Minister Courtenay's response to the Boer movement and the Cape's supposed support for all ethnicities as well as it's hands-tied attitude in serving Queen Victoria from newspaper magnate Wessel Bernardus Ollewagen of the Cape Times.
Alfred Courtenay had an interview with a reporter from the Cape Town Express, expressing the Boer Cultural movement to be a small minor group of radicals. The majority Boers work and live side-by-side alongside their Afrikaan and English fellow citizens.
From 1838 to 1843, the Cape Colony of the British Commonwealth engaged in a series of military conflicts with the native tribes and the Boer Rebellion of the Natal Coast region. First with the Anglo-Basuto War, then with the Pacification of the Boer Rebellion and lastly the Anglo-Zulu War.
