Vienna, November 4th, 1814 · The Shattered Congress

The Congress of Vienna was convened for a noble purpose: that a group of wise and intelligent men might bandage the wounds Napoleon wrought upon Europe with peace and justice. Had circumstances been otherwise, I believe that goal could have been accomplished. But sadly, the circumstances being what they are, we are forced to concede the Congress a failure.
The premise of the Congress was that all parties would set aside their pride and egos to compromise and create a framework for a stable and peaceful future. Unfortunately, not all delegations were committed to this idea. The armies of Russia and Prussia have violated the interim occupation agreements governing Poland and the Kingdom of Saxony, and rejected the Congress's efforts to resolve these issues peacefully.
It does not matter if they are a French officer or a Russian Tsar, the unilateral annexation of entire kingdoms cannot and will not be tolerated. Therefore, our wise Kaiser, along with the kings of Britain and France, has formed another coalition to liberate Saxony and Poland from this unwarranted aggression.
