Only a few days ago, His Majesty King Friedrich Wilhelm IV, and the rest of the Prussian delegation, departed Vienna following the collapse of the so-called peace congress. In an emergency address before an assembly of German princes convened in Berlin, His Majesty declared that Austria had chosen the path of war against its German brothers.
"Following the death of my Father, I went to Vienna as a German, with the goal of creating a stable and prosperous central Europe that need never again bow to France. And yet the Kaiser has set his soldiers against his own kin, at the bidding of the French and the British," the young King told the assembled delegates.
Several of the assembled northern princes voiced their support for Prussia's position, with one delegate remarking that "it is a bitter thing to see Vienna dance to Paris's tune."
With war soon to come, Prussia must make it clear that we did not defeat a tyrant only to then bow to Talleyrand.
