Royal Decree, read before the Cortes in the name of Her Majesty the Queen, this 19th day of February, 1836
In the name of Her Majesty Doña Isabel II, and by the hand of Her Majesty's Regent, this decree is published and takes effect immediately.
Article I. All lands belonging to religious orders and communities suppressed or reformed under prior law, together with such Crown lands as no longer serve the nation productively, are hereby declared national property.
Articale II. All belongings declared National Property are to be sold of to national Citizen.
Article III. Sale shall proceed by open auction, publicly announced, to the highest bidder, without distinction of rank or origin, save as provided in Article IV.
Article IV. The whole of the proceeds shall be applied to the extinction of the public debt, the principally that is to be arising from the present war.
Article V. No minister, deputy, magistrate, or officer of the Crown, nor any person acting on their behalf or at their direction, shall bid upon, acquire, or derive personal benefit from any property sold under this decree. Amendment II. By right of landownership, any Man should be able to buy said land. Allowing the crowns officers themselves to not buy the land is to deny this right §9.14.
